SimWorld Awards - Nomination Categories

Below is a description of each category and what we're looking for in your nominations. When nominating, please describe what motivated you to nominate a particular segment for a particular category. Maybe you liked the glamour of a wedding ceremony. Maybe you liked something that happened during the wedding scene that you're nominating. :)

Category Descriptions
  • Best Male Founder/Heir
    Male Founder or Heir. A particular sim that fits this category, that you find to be a good role model, a good man to carry on the Legacy of his family.

  • Best Female Founder/Heir
    Female Founder or Heir. A particular sim that fits this category, that you find to be a good role model, a good woman to carry on the Legacy of her family.

  • Best Supporting Sim (Male)
    A sim that is NOT the heir, but can be a satellite heir, can be a spare even. A big brother who is good for his siblings, an adult sim who helps out with family functions. For some reason this sim stands out in your mind, when reading about them.

  • Best Supporting Sim (female)
    A sim that is NOT the heir, but can be a satellite heir, can be a spare even. A big sister who is good for his siblings, an adult sim who helps out with family functions. For some reason this sim stands out in your mind, when reading about them.

  • Favourite Juvenile Sim, Male
    A male teen, child or toddler that stands out as an exceptional role in the story you are nominating. Include some segment that makes you feel he would be exceptional for this category.

  • Favourite Juvenile Sim, Female
    A female teen, child or toddler that stands out as an exceptional role in the story you are nominating. Include some segment that makes you feel she would be exceptional for this category.

  • Favourite Mother/Child moment
    A mother with any child of her own. A sweet moment with an infant. A humourous moment with her teenager. The child can be male or female, the adult must be Mother to the child in the scene.

  • Favourite Father/Child moment A father with any child of hos own. A sweet moment with an infant. A humourous moment with her teenager. The child can be male or female, the adult must be Father to the child in the scene.

  • Favourite Grandmother/child moment
    A grandmother with any child who is her grandchild. A sweet moment with an infant. A humourous moment with a teen grandchild, or toddler, or child. Or even an adult grandchild in some cases. The child can be male or female, the adult must be Grandmother to the child in the scene.

  • Favourite Grandfather/child moment
    A grandfather with any child who is his grandchild. A sweet moment with an infant. A humourous moment with a teen grandchild, or toddler, or child. Or even an adult grandchild in some cases. The child can be male or female, the adult must be Grandfather to the child in the scene.

  • Best Dressed Female Sim
    A photo that has an exceptionally well dressed Female Sim. Please include the caption and link.

  • Best Dressed Male Sim A photo that has an exceptionally well dressed Male Sim. Please include the caption and link.

  • Best Sim Shrink Moment
    An aspiration failure scene, resulting in a visit from the Sim Shrink. Photo and caption necessary to depict the uniqueness of the scene.

  • Best Legacy Estate
    A photo of the Legacy Estate. Should be a full outdoor view, but indoor views can work as well. If you see the interior of a Legacy House that stands out to you, that can be nominated as well, but generally we're looking for outside views of the entire Legacy property.

  • Best Family Portrait
    The portrait must have at least two family members included. A couple. Parent/Child. Grandparent/Grandchild. Siblings together. Entire family together.

  • Best Wedding
    A wedding scene that stands out to you. Can be romantic, humourous, tragic. Describe why you are nominating the scene in particular for this category.

  • Best Alien Abduction
    An abduction scene. Either being taken away. Can be the people reacting to his/her abduction. Can be a segment where the Sim is returning from the alien craft. Must be during the abduction, or the return after the abduction. Can be male or female, any age.

  • Best Birth Scene
    Any scene where an adult sim is giving birth to a child. Can be the reactions of friends/family who are watching. Can be a Male giving birth to an alien baby. Can be a Mother giving birth to a child, or children. So long as there is a birth involved.

  • Best Social Scene (community lot)
    Any scene that stands out to you, that happens on a community lot. Public WOOHOO, caught cheating, flirting with store clerk/barista/bartender. Anything on a community lot. Classic Legacy nominations must be on a regular neighbourhood communtiy lot. NOT a university lot. University nominations for this category must be on a University community lot, not back in the main neighbourhood. Campus library, gym, club, coffee house, shops, student union, etc.

  • Best First Kiss
    This can be a teen, young adult, adult, elder. So long as it is a first kiss. Anyone's first kiss with another Sim. :)

  • Best Ghost Moment
    Any humorous, tragic, or otherwise entertaining moment involving a ghost. Scaring a child, frightening an adult, to death or otherwise.

  • Best Aspiration Moment
    Favourite scene involving a Sim doing something specific to their Aspiration. Fortune sims collecting money trees/getting promoted/enjoying their new shrub/tree/flowerbed. Romance sims public woohooing, knowledge sims maxing skills/getting abducted. Sure some of these may cross into other categories, so this must be specific to a Sim's aspiration. (Most storytellers indicate when a sim is reaching an impossible want for example.)

  • Best Party Scene
    Classic Legacy, the party must be on a home lot, or neighbourhood community lot. Does not have to be in the Legacy house to qualify for this category. Please include a pointer to some images of the party, and an explanation of why you chose that particular scene.

  • Best Transition
    Baby to toddler, toddler to child, child to teen, teen to adult, adult to elder. University can include Teen to Young Adult and Young Adult to Adult. Something that makes a particular birthday stand out.

  • Best Glitch Shot
    Any glitch shot. Transitions with a parent holding the child still. Strange woohoo glitches. Anything that could constitute as a Glitch, and there's an image of it to describe it.

  • Best NPC/PC Moment
    Any moment with a member of your Legacy family and an NPC while the NPC is still an NPC. In other words, before moving in/marrying. Can be anything that strikes you as amusing, or otherwise entertaining. Does not HAVE to be funny, can be dramatic too.



    University Specific Categories


  • Best Toga Party
    Best Toga Party. Something that happens during a toga party that makes that particular scene of interest to you. Please describe what it is about the story or photos that made you want to nominate it.

  • Best Streaker Encounter
    Most humorous, dramatic, tragic, entertaining moment involving a streaker. Can be about the reactions around the streaker, some involvement with the streaker (Must still be an NPC, and on a University lot). So long as a streaker is involved.

  • Best Graduation Party
    Just as it says. Something stands out about a particular graduation. Can be something that happens during the party, the success of the party, something amusing that makes it stand out to you. Please give a description of your reasons. :)

  • Best Greek House Moment
    Just as it says. Something that happens at a Greek House. This may overlap with other categories, but that's okay. So long as this is specific to the Greek House in the story, it qualifies.

  • Best Secret Society Moment
    Most entertaining/interesting/funny/tragic moment that happens on a Secret Society lot. MUST be on the Society lot. It can't be with members on a regular community lot.

  • Funniest Mascot Moment
    Can be a fight between mascots, or mascot/cheerleader. Can be something that you find amusing about the mascot scene. Something that stands out in a story. Please be descriptive with your nomination.

  • Most Memorable Scene with Professor
    Can be humourous, romantic, dramatic. So long as it's on campus with a professor that is still an NPC (not married or living with a playable sim).

  • Best Cheerleader Scene
    Any great scene involving a cheerleader, while the sim is still a cheerleader. Not married or living with a playable sim. Can be something that happens with her, or reactions to something she does, so long as there is a Cheerleader NPC involved.


    When nominating for any of these categories, for University or Classic Legacy, please be as descriptive as you can be, with your reasons why you are nominating. The judges will narrow the nominations down to 7 per category before polling will begin, and our voters should have your view of why that particular segment was nominated and should win. You may nominate your own. The judges will be nominating as well, but we have one rule nobody else has. We may not nominate our own Blogs for these awards. To be entirely fair. :)
